5 tips for balancing femininity and motherhood

This is how not to lose yourself after becoming a mom.
As a mother myself, I know balancing YOU and your CHILD may be difficult. It almost seems as if it’s your needs, interests, and desires versus theirs.
But that should not be the case. Here’s how:
Set aside a YOU time. This time is for you and you only. Get a nanny or a relative to take care of the baby while you take care of yourself. Trust me you’re going to be a lot better mom if you take the time to get some rest and recollect yourself.
Get help. I already touched upon this but please don’t feel like you have to do everything alone. Say YES whenever help is offered to you. Outsource tasks and don’t feel you need to do it all alone.
Prioritise YOUR happiness. As I like to say, happy mother, happy child. Do things that make you happy. You will infect your child with your joy, trust me!
Spoil yourself. I know motherhood can be all-consuming, which is why I’m advising you to take the time to get your nails done, get a massage, or visit the spa. Scheduling that may seem difficult but once you do it you’ll thank yourself.
Remember—you were a WOMAN first. Take some time to do the things you did before having children—including dating your man and flirting with him! Go for dinner with your girls, visit your favourite café with a journal, and keep in mind that you don’t have to lose yourself to be a good mother.
